White wells.
Bride deadened at the sound of cracking cheeks. My grandpa's altar wears white.
On holy days, I greet those ashes wishing to paint a colour less transparent than white. If you suck the blood out of someone, they turn white, if you bleach something it fades, and eventually turns ash-like.
You hear stories from your family and figure out the reason why they chose the paths they did. Why my grandma borrowed money to send my father to Australia, why he persisted here whilst only having $20 in his pocket.
And his relationship to his father, a figure in his life and my grandma's life which caused great suffering. With this, I accompany these actions with the words of the Dalai Lama "Unfortunately, many unhappy situations or many tragic situations are actually all creation...wheather basic human nature is negative or not? If basic human nature is negative, there's not much hope, and all fighting is useless in attempt to improve. But I don't think that. Basic human nature is more compassionate."
With this, we tell stories of our loved ones, all the things they did without judgment of good or bad. Our humanity constitutes us to the illusions of all things that are supposed to be our nature.
